Our ongoing contract at Colne Valley Viaduct for HS2 with ALIGN involves the transport of precast concrete segments for the UKs longest rail bridge at 3.4km in length. The segments vary in size and weight from 80T to 150T and are transported using a 6 axle SPT along the viaduct to the the installation girder. Here it is lifted and installed using 'Dominique'. A match casting system is used to link each segment where it is then glued and tensioned into position between the piers. The viaduct will span various lakes and roads in the North London region of the Colne Valley National Park where it will meet the 16km tunnel system taking the HS2 line North.
